2009 Municipal Elections
The Town of Sharpsburg will hold a General Election on
Tuesday, November 3, 2009, to elect two Council Members (Post 2 & 4) to
four (4) year terms each.
There will
be a Special Election in conjunction with the General Election to fill the unexpired
terms (2 years each) of Mayor and Council Member (Post 3).
Candidates desiring to qualify may do so by filing a Notice
of
Candidacy and paying the qualifying fee at
Sharpsburg
Town Hall, Bridges Recreation Center
105
Main Street, Sharpsburg.
Qualifying will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 and
ending
Wednesday, September 2, 2009. Hours for
qualifying
are Monday & Tuesday, 9:00am to 3:00pm and
Wednesday,
9:00am to 12:00pm.
The qualifying fee is set at fifty dollars ($50.00) for the
unexpired term
of Mayor
and twenty five dollars ($25.00) for Council Member.
The
municipal election will be held at the Bridges Recreation Center,
105 Main
Street, Sharpsburg.
Polls will be open from 7:00am to 7:00pm.
The
last day to register to vote in this election is October 5, 2009.
You
can register to vote at the Sharpsburg Town Hall.
